Forget the store bought powdered lemonade! Upgrade to homemade strawberry lemonade that is bursting with fresh fruit flavor and not sugary sweetness. Grab this easy to make lemonade recipe below.

Every summer when strawberries are in season, I love to whip up a recipe of homemade strawberry lemonade. My husband enjoys tart lemonade and my sister in-law loves all things strawberry. Why not combine the two for a delicious, refreshing drink?

The only problem with many lemonade recipes is the high amount of processed sugar. On our homestead, we enjoy using less sugar to sweeten our drinks and desserts. Our favorite wholesome sugars to use are fructose, agave, honey, sucanat and fruit juice. These choices allow us to focus on big flavor rather than sweetness while still keeping our sweet tooth satisfied.

How to Make Strawberry Lemonade

Homemade strawberry lemonade is easy and quick to make. Strawberries, lemons and a sweetener is all you need. Don’t have fresh lemons on hand? Bottled lemon juice will work just fine.

To make the lemonade, place the strawberries, lemon juice, agave and water into a blender. Puree. Finish by combining the remaining water with the strawberry mixture. Chill then serve.

How to Serve Strawberry Lemonade

After a long day on the homestead of pulling weeds, harvesting herbs or my husbands favorite chore of mowing the lawn (not!), coming into the kitchen to grab a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade is just what the body needs. I like to store the strawberry lemonade in a half gallon mason jar and serve it to my family in either my favorite Pioneer Woman glasses or a wide mouth canning jar. Being the artsy one in the family, I love adding a colored straw to the beverage for an extra special touch.

This strawberry lemonade recipe can easily be doubled or tripled and is great to serve at summer parties, barbecues, potlucks or picnics.
